Getting older...

I got called-off today (Thank God!) so I had my much needed rest since my day-off yesterday is not enough in my opinion. Maybe it's getting calmer now in the hospital, but from how things are going (as always) one can never tell if it will be busy or okay the next day. You can just never predict. But most of the time it's busy anyway. That's why when my coworkers find out that I work full- time they get really surprised because most of the nurses only work part-time. It's a very stressful job - mentally, physically, and emotionally. So yes, I'm so glad that I had another day-off today! Woot!

I had the time to rent this tagalog movie "You changed my life", a sequel to "A very special love".

Wala lang..it's a cute movie. Very light and relaxing. John Lloyd is one of my favorite actors talaga. I will watch all his movies! I must say the original will always be better though. Parang mas naaliw ako nung pinanood ko yung "A very special love" last year.

Getting old

I was cleaning up my inbox earlier and saw this in the forwards that I received before. It's just funny...Are you getting older? See for yourself.

Do you feel that you are getting older !?!?!?!

Let's see. The majority of students in universities today were born in 1984.... They are called "youth".

For them, they have never heard of "We are the World, we are the children..." And the "Uptown Girl" they know is by Westlife not Billy Joel.

For them, there have always been only one Germany and only one Vietnam.

AIDS exists since they were born.

CD exists since they were born.

Michael Jackson is a white guy .

John Travolta is always round in shape and they can't imagine how this fat guy could be a god of dance.

They believe that Charlie's Angels and Mission Impossible are just new films out last year.

They can never imagine a black and white screen for a computer.

They never knew Pac-Man.

They can't believe a black and white television ever existed and they don't even know how to switch on a TV without a remote control.

And they never understand how could we go out without a mobile phone when we were in university...

Let's check if we're getting old...

1. You understand what was written above and you smile.

2. You need to sleep more, until afternoon, after a night out.

3. Your friends are getting married.

4. You are always surprised to see small children playing comfortably with computer.

5. When you see teenagers with mobile phones, you shake your head.

6. You developed more and more feelings about your work. It's now your life.

8. You meet your friends from time to time , talking about the good old days, repeating again and again all funny stories your experienced together.

hehehe...ahh so true. Sheez, I'm getting old.

My major craving!

Kanina sa pinoy shop where I rented the tagalog movie, I saw this in their bins...Oh my gosh, SANTOL!!! Preserved nga lang. Kaya lang I was having second thoughts of buying it. Paano ba naman kasi, before I bought a frozen santol at this one oriental store. Eh it wasn't any good naman. Nangilo pa ngipin ko. Nge! Plus, omg it gave me a freaking diarrhea at that time! My goodness! Hindi sanay ang tyan ko dun. But anyway, after further deliberating, I bought the (preserved) santol...

It's not bad naman...may chilli pa nga syang kasama na sawsawan, kinda spicy. Pwede na rin..since I cannot have the actual fruit right now that I've been craving forever. hehe...Haayyy I love santol kasi. Nakaka-miss. :(

hmm...Sinigang!

Here's another recipe that I'm gonna share with you guys. One of my favorites, my version of Sinigang na baboy!

First, I boil the pork muna and then drain the first boil para mawala ang sobrang sebo.

Then I will boil the pork again and add onions and tomatoes to boil with it. Then I'll add patis to taste.


What I do to make it more tasty, I will slowly simmer the pork with the onions and tomatoes

for at least 15 minutes to really absorb the taste. Then, I will add the gabi. (I don't know what it's called in english, hehe..) Then simmer for 5-10 minutes..

Then add sitaw and I also add okra with it.

and of course, the Tamarind and soup base. Gusto ko maasim talaga so i put 1 1/2 of this. It depends on your taste.

Then just mix it until all the veggies are cooked. Then just add patis, vetsin, and I also put some onion powder to go with it to add more flavor.

When the veggies are almost all cooked, I also add pechay.

Ohh I forgot that I also add shrimp (optional) but I like my sinigang na baboy with shrimp. Masarap sya, promise! Then I top that with onion leaves. :)

Here it is! Actually kulang pa sa rekado...I'm missing radish here. Wala lang kasi sa market when I bought the ingredients eh.
