What brings me joy...

On my previous entry, I talked about some unwanted "WTF" moments. On the brighter side of life anyway, I wanna take some time and acknowledge the sweet little things that make me happy.

I made a post like this back in my old blog couple of years ago. Now here's the revised list of the things that make me smile..

What brings me joy...

- Surviving every shift at work and being on top of things, without making any mistakes
- Having connection and rapport with my patients
- Have time fly and pass when I'm singing, recording, and mixing songs in my little sactuary - my music room

the magic happens here, my first love

- When I'm in the mood to start a melody and create lyrics to a song
- Listening to music or sound-tripping with my iPod before I go to sleep
- Drinking Starbucks' Mocha Frappucino or The Coffee Beans' White Chocolate Dream iced coffee

my ultimate favorite

- ...while watching soap operas or teleseryes in the afternoon
- Satisfying my food cravings
- Eating chocolates

- Sleeping-in and waking up as late as I want
- Uninterrupted sleep
- Freshly filled up full-tank gas

- Hugging and carrying Mikey!

I love Mikey!

- Getting a call from staffing that I'm "on-call" or "called-off" when I'm awfully tired
- Shopping!
- Writing poems
- Eating soup especially when I'm cold
- Driving when there's no traffic

- Receiving a comment in my blog/facebook/friendster or twitter

mbl
- Being in-love and being loved
- Receiving simple text messages saying hi's and hello's

- People remembering my birthday, receiving greetings from friends and old friends
- Watching a good movie, especially that ones I can relate with

- Weighing myself and see good results of my little workout, or even just because I'm getting huge amount of workout at work (lol)

- Cooking a good meal

yumm..
- People being appreciative
- Being healthy and not getting sick

- Accomplishing my goal for the day

- Receiving a spirit-gram at work

- Doing house chores I planned to do in the day

- Watching a good tagalog movie

- Working in the OB unit, working with babies and their mommies!

on my way to work...

- This rarely happens now because of email, but receiving an old-fashioned letter from my friends in the Philippines
- Having close and sweet family ties

- Knowing that I survived and lived normally despite of being a 6-month old preterm baby with no complications and being completely normal person...when according to what I've learned before, the chance of survival was 50/50 and 99% of premies had severe illnesses and cerebral palsy cases! (Enough to be thankful for!)

- Having true friends through thick and thin

- Coming home and being with my family

family and extended family!

- Receiving a simple smile from anyone I come across in the hallway
- Seeing/taking care of cute and adorable little babies
- Traveling

- Day-off!

- Collecting pictures and memories in my photoalbums
- When I can laugh to the point that my tummy hurts

- When I get a surprise, any kind of surprise because I love surprises!
- When Mike and my family come over to visit me

- My family and loved ones are healthy and safe

- ........
(and the list will go on and on....one day I will update this again with more things...)

It just takes a little time in appreciating life, success and blessings, di ba?

What about you, what brings you joy?

Congratulations!

My sis Carissa has graduated in high school last week. Until now, I can only wish I was there..

All we can do is chat via YM and talk with the webcams. Aww.. :(

Congrats, lil girl!

Acoustics

Teardrops on my guitar (Acoustic) - Diane de Mesa

On the contrary, opposite from "joy", here's a song about teardrops naman, hehe..My acoustic version of Taylor Swift's original. Pansin ko lang it has a lower key compared to the main version. [Btw, the acoustic guitar is played by Kris Farrow..this guy is so talented! He has the acoustic instrumentals in iTunes.]

White horse (Acoustic) - Diane de Mesa

And this one is also by Taylor Swift. Also one of my favorites from her.
I don't like the music in the beginning parang the minus-one is broken, sounded like it's scratched or something..Anyway, I also recorded the original version of this song a while ago using Garageband. It's not bad naman. Clean and clear din ang sound. Pero mas gusto ko talaga ang sound ng Protools, of course. :)

I just love singing acoustics. :)

Have a good day/night everyone!

What brings me joy?

Gate crashing at the shopping mall to "look around" but end up buying something. Retail therapy does make my face look like this ---> ;)

Nice acoustic but not familiar with the music tho, but I like your take on R&B's. Try Rihanna's "Disturbia". I tried, it killed rats (not that I've had), haha!

@K.noizki, yeah shopping always makes me feel good. The only part I don't like is paying the credit card bill, hehehe...

I don't know that song. It sounds familiar. Do you have the mp3 of that song? Maybe I can learn it. :)

I love how you incorporated your list with pictures sweetie, that's really sweet in that sense. :)
Congrats to your sister!
I love the acoustics! The songs flow smoothly with your voice. As you already know how soothing your voice is. Beautiful! May i have some copies of these? I love esp 'teardrops on my guitar'..

That's a nice way naman to list the things that make you happy. Very inspiring. Napakinggan ko na pala yung mga songs. Gustung-gusto ko yung white horse. naks naman talaga!

Half of your list has something to do with music while most of it are pretty cheap thrills. That's so true that things that could make you happy can come from the simplest of things. The best things in life are (almost) free. :) Makes me want to do a list myself to count my blessings.

Anyways, congrats to your sister!

When I see my kids grow and being healthy and safe. That all i do for them is being appreciated. Sometimes being a mom, you give up your need for yourself and you have to prioritize your kids' needs. That's what brings me joy..

Anyway haven't visited your blog in a while. Hope you're doing great. But from the look of your new entry, looks like life is treating u well. =)

I love your voice. Keep singing!
