That one annoying day

I had such a rough day last monday. I had to go to my first physical MD appointment. It was my first time to go to one here since I moved here in Santa Maria. So before I left the house, I looked at the office address online and GPSed it in my car. I drove there to go to the doctor's office. But when I got there, to my surprise, the building is empty! Oh my! Good thing I was 10 minutes early for my 1030am appoinment. I went to the office next to it and asked the lady how come the office of Dr-so-and-so is empty. Then she said, "Ohh they moved to the next building." So okay I thought she literally meant "next building" so I walked to that next building as she mentioned.

When I got there to the next building, I didn't see a sign for my Dr's office. So I just called their office # and asked them where the heck they're located now. How come they moved and didn't even update the freaking address online? How annoying is that! So they told me it's 2 more blocks down. What the heck so I had to drive again, I thought the lady said just next building, eh?

When I got to the building, I had to wait for 1 hour to be seen by my doc. I don't like how I have my appointment time but I still end up waiting for a long time, just for the whole physical checkup thing. Anyway, good thing I'm not coughing anymore, but that was actually the main reason why I made appointment for a checkup. But it's still good anyway to have that annual physical and gyne checkup.

So after that, the MD told me that they have to run some bloodwork labs since the last time I had one was last year when I had my pre-employment requirement at my job. The bloodwork will also check for thyroid-related, cholesterol, diabetes, etc type of screening. So they sent me downstairs for the labwork. It was around 12 noon when I got to the lab downstairs, but the lady said that they are closed for lunch and will reopen in 1 hour. Goodness! The staff redirected me to go the next building for the lab draw.
So I drove again to the next building where they can draw my labwork, but the lady said that she is only helping three more patients and she is going to lunch, closed na naman! Hay naku! I had one more option, and that was to go to the main hospital where I work so I had to drive there again! Finally they did help me out with that and I'm glad cuz I don't want to go back the next day for that.

Sheez, it's just too much driving and why is it that when something goes wrong, it's like a domino-effect and everything else goes wrong. So annoying!

And at work, I wrote my name for the Volunteer Off list #1 (cuz we do have an option for that, if we are low-census, they'd look at the volunteer list first). However, I didn't receive any call from staffing! So I was just wondering, since it's highly unlikely that they will not call if you did volunteer and it was not a lot of patients. The staffing was like, "Oops we called-off somebody else! We forgot to look at the volunteer-off list." Darn, what's up with that! It could've been nice to have that day -off for the rest of the day since I didn't have a good morning but it's okay though.. at least work was nice and my day picked up then.

I'm glad that day is super over now. We just have those kind of days sometimes. Haayyy...

Pizza take-out for free, how sweet that is!

My patient the last week owns a pizza place, Papa Murphy's and she gave us (the staff) coupons for free pizza. How cool is that!

At first I was surprised cuz I didn't know that you actually have to to-go a ready-to-bake pizza and they will actually not bake it for you. At first I expected that they will, and to my surprise when the guy handed it to me uncooked. LOL. Eh I was starving pa naman. It's not advisable to get a pizza at Papa Murphy's if you're hungry. LOL.

I just can't help to post this picture of my cute baby patient....


Too bad I had to poke her for some blood test. Aww.. but she is super cute!
I love being a mother-baby nurse. I swear I miss my baby patients even when I'm home...Still thinking if they're eating well, peeing/pooping, taken good care of. Love!

And speaking of work...

And it was nice that one day we had just-for-nothing potluck for dinner. I love my coworkers. If anything, it would be hard for me to leave this job just because I love my coworkers and they've become my 2nd family over here. Here I just captured some shots using my blackberry..Too bad though we don't eat dinner all at the same time, otherwise no one will watch for the patients. We don't have that luxury of other jobs that can go to some places to eat lunch together. Sayang talaga..
